A Business with a Purpose
In an industry often dominated by large corporations, Gary Stanley stands as a proud advocate for local ownership, quality craftsmanship, and community-driven service. As the owner of Stanley Handyman and Remodeling Services, Gary has built more than just a business—he’s created a company that prioritizes people over profit, ensuring that every customer receives the attention and respect they deserve.
“I love the freedom of doing what I choose to do and when I choose to do it. I get to use my own ideas instead of being told what to mimic.”
A Personal Touch in Every Project
Unlike larger companies that can undercut local businesses due to their size and resources, Gary believes that every customer should be treated as a special case. Whether he’s tackling a full-scale remodel, or building a custom deck, his approach remains the same: service with integrity and care.
“There are times when larger companies or corporations bid on the same jobs, and they have the ability and manpower to offer lower prices because of their workload balance,” Gary explains. “But I feel like every customer should be a special case. Helping people with their home needs or even doing small things like taking out the trash for someone—I would never charge for that. These small moments contribute to the community because happy people in happy homes tend to stay, and that allows a community to thrive.”
Commitment to Hiring and Supporting Local
Gary doesn’t just serve the local community—he actively invests in it. He hires locally, often giving work opportunities to those who need a second chance, including individuals experiencing homelessness. “I’ve taken a few homeless people to work, fed them, and even gave one my jacket when it was cold a few days ago,” he shares.
Beyond employment, Gary is a strong supporter of local businesses, sourcing materials from small, independent supply stores whenever possible. Growing up in a small town, he understands the value of supporting fellow business owners and keeping money circulating within the local economy.

Building Trust Through Transparency
A man of his word, Gary values honesty and transparency above all else. “If I give you a price, I will never raise it unless we discuss an unforeseen issue,” he says. His commitment to fairness and reliability has earned him the trust of his customers, who not only continue to support his business but also celebrate his achievements.
Since becoming certified as Locally Owned & Operated, Gary has noticed a boost in recognition. “Customers are supportive—they congratulate me on accomplishments. I do get stopped more often and asked for a business card or someone takes a picture of my number,” he says.
A Business with a Purpose
While Gary enjoys all aspects of handyman work, he has a particular passion for remodels, decks, and fences—projects that allow him to build something from the ground up. But beyond the work itself, he’s driven by a deeper purpose.
Each April, in honor of Autism Awareness Month, Gary offers a 10% discount on all services. This cause is deeply personal to him, as his oldest daughter is autistic. “It’s close to my heart,” he says. “This is one way I can give back and raise awareness.”
With his unwavering commitment to his craft, his community, and his values, Gary Stanley exemplifies what it means to be a true local business owner. Through Stanley Handyman and Remodeling Services, he’s not just fixing homes—he’s building a stronger, more connected community, one project at a time.
